Long Description Restricted to 255 Characters WANT MORE

I have imported data from Excel as LONG TExt and some fields are 325 characters long, when I checked the field properties there is no character length or @ in the format

My main table is set to 255 characters and @ for the format, so I lose part of the data

I have tried to remove the 255 & @ but wont save

Can anyone help me to solve this for me

    Regards
    Dave

You tried to change main table field to long text (memo) type?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

    Hi June
The field is already a Memo field in my main table and has the properties 255 & the format property has @

The property of the field in the table I created when imorting from Excel does not have these properties so the field length is complete. It is when I append the data to my main table obviously I lose any data over 255

So I tried to reformat my Memo field by making the length blank like the imported field and also to remove the @ BUT that does not work

Thanks for such a quick response.

If the field has a FieldSize property then it is not Long Text, it is Short Text. Change the field type to Long Text.

I don't do formatting in tables.
