    Cannot reset password

I am running Access 365 and have a database that I have password protected. I want to change the password using the normal procedure, (Open Exclusive, File Tab, Encrypt with Password, etc.) and a few things happen that I find odd. 1. it does not say that it is currently password protected (under encryption icon it does not say "remove password" but it does say "Encrypt with a Password) and 2., When I go ahead and select the "Encrypt with Password" it asks for the new password (and verification) which I enter but when I select okay the dialogue box says it is not a valid password. Bottom line, I can't remove the old password not can i create a new password. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I actually solved this problem by creating a new database and then importing all of the tables/forms/reports etc. from the old database into the new one. Once I did that, I was able to remove the old password and create a new one. Thanks for taking the time to give me a hand.
