    access format not supported


    Hi, I have been using the database in access 2016, suddenly the database is not opening, getting an error message Format Not supported. Please help

    This is due to a Microsoft bug you got because of an office update.
    roll back your last update, then it should work.

    Thanks for your reply. My office was not updated, as I keep this particular PC without internet connection. So still couldn't open.

    It sounds like corruption. Try decompiling your database

    Thanks for your reply, unfortunately, the same error is displayed when the decompile command is given and tried to open the database.

    If it's not full of private info you could try zipping it and posting it here. If it won't zip small enough you'd have to post it elsewhere because you likely can't open it to try and make it smaller.

    Nothing that I tried will let me in. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to roll back my updates or hack my registry to see if I can get in. Hopefully you have a recent version as a backup, as this one might simply be corrupted.
