    lock file persists

    Hi,

I have a database that was working normally until now.
Now suddenly, when I close the database with Docmd.Quit, the lock file persists.
I can't manually delete this file either --> The action can't be completed because the file is open in Microsoft Access.
There is no MS Access in the Task Manager in Apps, but there is in the Background processes.
I have to do an End task from MS Access in Task Manager in the Background processes and then I can delete the lockfile.

Ever since this happened I have another problem.
During processing I get several times a 3048 error : Cannot open MORE databases.

When I close MS Access and in Task Manager in the Background processes do an End task of MS Access or a Shut down of the computer, everything works normally again.

    What is going on here.

    Tx

    regards

    Michel

    Hi Michel,

Sometimes error 3048 occurs when you open an untrusted database or access the database from an untrusted location.

So I suggest you setup a new trusted location:

    1. Go to File > Options.

    2. In access options, click on Trust center.

    3. click on trust center settings.

    4. click on trusted locations.

    5. check the "allow trusted locations on my network" and add a new location.

    6. Use the browse button to browse to the location.

    7. select "subfolders of this location are also trusted".

    8. click on OK.

This thread is nearly a year old and the problem was caused by an Office bug that has been resolved.

Please stop copying and pasting solutions from blogs that are dubious in their advice at best, and trying to get you to download unnecessary software to "fix" the problem.
