OK, I have got it to stick in the main form control, but have no idea as to how.?
Sorry but I don't understand. Are you using my example? It works for me in A2010/365

Yes, I downloaded and used your sample?
    Must be another 2007 thing

Initially it was jumping back to the subform field, and only once or twice did it stay in the mainform field, but no idea as to why, on those occasions.
Unable to trace anything in the code?

Yes. Its another 2007 thing! You do get a lot of instances of this kind!
I just loaded up my A2007 VM and got the same result as you.
So I created an MDB version (attached) which also works fine in A2010/365 and also in A2003.
However it showed the same glitch in A2007 when I tried it.

Perhaps its time to stop fighting A2007 and buy a slightly newer version?
You can definitely get Office 2010 for less than £20 GBP e.g. at Office 2010 Professional Plus - Download link/Genuine License Key (ecokeys.co.uk) its only £8.99.
No idea if it really is genuine

I'm fine with what I have TBH, does all that I need in Excel and Access now.
There is no development, just curiosity.

Also just a heads up for anyone else on 2007, that downloads it, as now we know it is just 2007 at fault?

I will check out that link though.

Yes I know you're happy with 2007 but it would save me lots of time converting samples to be A2007 compliant!

Gentleman - Success !!! All the problems were MY fault. The actual problem was in "naming". I was using what I thought were the object names, when in fact the real object names were different. I checked the names and corrected where necessary - and I learned a thing or two about tabbing, in the process. My thanks for all the contributions!! Thread Solved!
