    i called both textbox and query "clinet_serch'' so i need to write in the textbox
    =DLookup("clinet_serch", "clinet_serch")
    well i also dont know how to use the VBA oppiton you told me so ill need you to explain agian, ill deal with the teacher

    No, the second one in the () would be the field name from the query you want to display the data of.

    I can't explain the VBA part any simpler than how I already did.

    well i wrote
    =DLookUp("clinet_id","clinet_serch")
    and now when i try and type numbers in view it says it cant be edited....

    You dont type in the numbers there. This is your display textbox. Your data entry textbox is the one that's being used by the query.

    To be honest, this is stuff you should be picking up in your classroom. I suggest going to your teacher for help on this. I cant really teach you how to use a form and navigate it.

    i think you didng quite get me i dont care if i use a query or not i just thought i need it but i didnt get how to do it on my own, what i want this all thing to do is that i open my clinet form write an id number on a textbox (or somthing else it dosent even matter) and then it will navigate to the clinet which i wrote hes id in the textbox and it needs to be in the same form/
    its not homework by my teacher, we didnt learn it at all its somthing i want to do and my teacher dosent explain, she sends to google, google found this forum

    The query is needed. I understand what you are trying to do. That's how you do it. Is this a college teacher? If she's sending you to google, you go to your dean. I honestly dont know any other way of explaining it. My apologies for not being able state it in a way you can succeed with.

    ok so i did the DLookUp in the textbox and i cant edit it
    what do i do now? (i have never touched VBA so i need you to explain step by step)

    why don't you just upload what you've got to us and say 'one more time' what you want.

    it's extremely easy for people to do it themselves so they know exactly what to say. make sense?

    well a picture doesn't do me that much good, considering I said this:
