weekend00, I am grateful for all your help so far - you are the only one who has replied to any of my posts on this forum - and I really need to sort this out, but this site is not the best place to handle it.

Attached is the entire DB with the queries, filter form and report.<br>Please test the queries and you will see what I meant.<br>

if you don't want to update the checktime in the table, add a field orphan to the table the use the 4 queries to update the orphan. the exclude the orphan in you query for reoprt.

What I changed:
1 added a field ORPHAN to table checkinout;
2 adde 4 queries to update ORPHAN entries;
3 modified query jobsquery to exclude orphans;
4 deleted most entries in checkinout to minimize the size.
please see attached DB.
