    combo box search problem

    Hello,

I have a form which has a sub form.

When I open this main form and choose from the dropdown combo box, I get the spinning circle and have to kill the process.

However if I open this main form and choose from a dropdown box in the subform and then go to the combo box mentioned above it works fine.
Can anyone help? Or do I need to attach the database on here?

    Thankyou.

    Hi Andy

Makes it easier if you attach the database

    Thankyou,

I have added two zip files. One with the database (Access 2010) and one with the description of my problem.

    Hi Andy

The database opens just fine and the selection of a Study works just great for me.

You can try the following steps:

    1. Check that you are not missing any references in the VB Editor.

    2. Do a Compact & Repair

    3. Create a Blank new database and then Import your original database

    Hi Andy

See if the configuration of your Forms has sorted the issue?

I made the Study Subform a Continuous Form vice Datasheet

I also moved the Payments Subform out of the Study Subform and then linked both the Study & Payments Form using a Form Reference which is highlighted in Yellow

To add payments for a Patient you just select the specific Patient

You can PM me if you need detailed explanations

    Thanks Mike,

I’ve been through your first post. The compact and repair didn’t work but importing the database into a new one did!

For future reference, what did you mean by ‘Check that you are not missing any references in the VB Editor’?

I will have a look at your second post and see if I can work it out.

    Much appreciated!
    Andy

    Hi Andy

Missing references can be checked By:-

    • Open your database.
    • Press ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor.
    • On the Tools menu, click References.
    • Click to clear the check box for the type library or object library marked as MISSING: <referencename>.
