    Its strange but I fixed the field, but it still gives me the error message (you cant add or change a record because a related record is required in the table "customer" )
    So i can edit and customer that is already there, I just can add a new customer the way i usually would by clicking on a filed and typing.

    A subform is what I originally went with to begin with. I thought it looked ugly and I like how nice and simple a list box looked. I really want to get the list box working correctly.

    I think I have settled on this method (list box) so now i have moved the next problem that I need to work out on a new thread. Thanks to everyone who got me this far.
