How to share an access db data over a network

I am considering splitting the current local database and moving the back-end (tables) to a shared network drive - perhaps to a team Google Drive. And share copies of the Front-end to multiple users. Not all users would have the Desktop Access application. I presume, those users could use the Windows Access Run-time application, instead.



What are the ramifications of doing so?

In short it simply won't work reliably at all on a Google drive (or any other cloud based storage) because of the way Access opens the share to the database files. (SMB protocol I think, and it doesn't like being interrupted, which it would be.)

A hardwired local network share will be absolutely fine.
Each user should have their own local front end, Access runtime is ideal (some would say preferable) if they don't have the full Access application.
