    Peter,

    So I'm guessing from the bottom part of your last post that you tried creating an "Import Specification" and then importing the csv file using the Import Specification you designed?

    If you could perhaps zip and post a small sample of the excel file and the MSAccess file, it might be easier to help troubleshoot.

    I hadn't used the import spec for the csv (I've used on txt files in the past) but will try before posting you the sample

    Had to handle a server crash to tried at end of today. Looked promising. Will play around with it tomorrow. Thanks Peter

    Another reasonably quick way to do this - IF the number has a specific/maximum number of digits - is to put a custom mask on the excel column of '0000...0' the same size as the number of digits and import to an Access text field the same size.
