Passing varible from mainform to popup subform - and then passing new variables back. Possible?

Yes, for the Orders form though this method didn't appear as useful as the user would be navigating customer records, instead of order records. It also created other problems further down in the order process. I thought it was interesting that the many sample order databases I downloaded and examined also used this approach - with the mainform linked to the Orders table, instead of the Customers table.

Well, you know the business and have done some analysis. So you know the situation better than readers. Use Visio or pencil and
paper to layout your logic. With some test data -Prove to yourself that your approach satisfies the requirement or not. And, if not, adjust your logic model and retest. I'm just taking about the forms you are proposing for the "order handling" or whatever you call it.
You know the details. It's always easier to test your "theory" on paper (create a blueprint) then build "the house". Trial and error with a physical database is rarely the most efficient strategy.

Having a form bound to Orders and a combobox to select customer is certainly reasonable. Your complication arises in that you want user to select an address as well.
