SumIf Calculation in an Update Query

Hi All,

I am trying to update a field in one table with the sum data from another table where they match on the Program Name and for Period 1. Attached is a screen print off how I set up my Query and the error message that I get back. Can someone advise on what I am doing wrong in the calculation??

The bad thing about Access:
you cannot SUM AND UPDATE in the same query.

you can sum into a table, then take that table THEN run the update.

Saving calculated data, especially aggregate calcs, is usually not a good idea. Calculate when needed.
