Cannot edit Text on form control buttons in Excel

In my Excel spreadsheet on my Lenovo computer I cannot edit the text on form control buttons. I can edit everything else, but not form controls. I must accept
everything that is put on the button when it is created.

I know that in Access I can see a properties display. How can I do it in Excel? I must have some property set in the Excel worksheet that prevents editing. How do I see the property

sheet and what do I look for to modify? I want to put my text on the button.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

Did you build a custom user form or are these buttons directly on the worksheet?

If buttons directly on worksheet, I already responded to this question in your other thread https://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=69543:

"I right clicked on the button to select it then left click on button and started typing and the caption changed."

I used the ActiveX controls on my worksheet. Can open a Properties sheet for them.

It's interesting that I prefer the ActiveX controls on worksheet but never used the ActiveX controls in Access.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I have attached the file in question. I have tried to edit the captions of the form control buttons and nothing works. Select control, right click, and select edit text. That works on any computer except this one. I just cannot edit the captions.Period.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
