USing ACCDE files

I have my database ready for distribution written in Access 2013.


I have been telling them to use the runtime version if they do not have Access and that works ok.

Re my previous posts several testers have discovered bugs relating to running the database in versions other than 2013.

However unless I send them a shortcut to call the database runtime and database directly using "runtime.exe myDatabase.mdb" they cannot run the database in Access 2013 runtime.

The database uses VBA and macros as well as temporary variables etc is my solution to save it as an ACCDE file? As the end user needs no access to the code

if you distribute the shortcut and it works, then continue.
Windows is pre-ordained to open Access app if you dbl-click the db. You must alter its thinking with the shortcut.
Or
have user change the default app for the extension.

Shortcut sounds easier.

you could always try renaming the .accde to .accdr - then it will run in runtime
