    Need counter field on subform

I am using a form/subform to create a purchase order made up of the main information on the form and several PO line items on a subform. I want to create a field to assign a PO number, starting with 1, and incrementing by 1 as I add more items to the subform. Is there an easy way to create this on my subform?

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Greg

not really, since Access doesnt need it. The computer knows how many items it has in the subform.
It can be done easily in a report, but not in a subform.
Its easier to look at the record# the cursor is on. or the # records on the record counter.

Only a human would need a record counter.
