    How to report information.

    Hello,

I have very little Access or database experience...

I have a access database already established that my company is using. I am wanting to pull information from forms and make a report. I wrote a query and gathered the information needed. My question is I need to add days, compare dates, count days. Do I do that in the actual report setting or in the query? Whenever I get pointed in the correct direction I'll study up on that area.

    Thanks

A little vague, but I'd lean towards the query.

Thanks I did all calculations with the query.

I'm making a report that shows on time delivery, due date, ship date, days late, days early.

I copied the database last week and then made a new query and report. The problem is I added that stuff in the copied database in case I messed something up I wouldn't kill the company database. Is there a way to add the 2 new objects into the company database? We have added 5 days of business so I cant over write my copy as theirs.

    Thanks,

I assume the 2 new objects are the report and a query.
You can easily add them to the company database without disturbing anything already there.
You can test it by making another copy of the company database, let's call it copyTest.
The copy that you have modified with the new objects, let's call that CopyUpdated.
    Open CopyTest.
In the ribbon, click External Data, then Access.
The radio button for Import... should be selected.
Browse to the location of CopyUpdated, click Open, OK.
Click the tab for queries and select your new query, same for reports.
    Click OK, then Close.
    Test your new report.
If all is well repeat steps using the Company Database and CopyUpdated.

Further, the application should be split:

It is Split. The *BackEnd is 146 Mb and the *FrontEnd is 216 Mb, So from what I read i can just overwrite the *Backend and not worry about losing any data?

The backend has the data; you replace the front. Sounds like one or both are due for a compact/repair.

The suggestion I gave in post #4 does not touch the BE. The BE and FE are separate files.
If you overwrite the BE, the previous BE data will be replaced by the overwrite data.
