Field name missing when adding fields to the form

Suddenly the programmes is refusing to show the field name beside the field when added to the form. I have tried checking the field properties but cannot see any referance to this. Also had a look in Access options I've hit a key somewhere but where?



How can I get it back?

Is it just one or all. Are you saying the label isn't showing. Have you checked if it's setting is set to invisible

All field names are missing whether I create it using the text box or insert it by 'adding existing fields'.
The data field appears alright and is named. The only way I can title this field is by using the 'label' function in controls

It sounds as if 'Set Control Defaults' has been accidentally set for Textboxes not to be created with associated Labels...Doing this is the only way I can recreate the problem.

Try this:

Select a Textbox that was created with an automatically associated Label. Then, on the Ribbon click on Design, go to the Controls section, and (in 2007) to the immediate left of the 'Use Control Wizards' icon you should see an icon that looks like a crossed hammer & wrench.

Hovering over it, it should say 'Set Control Defaults. Click on this, then try creating a new Textbox.
