    Subform Link IssuesI a

    Hello all,

    I am a fairly newbie to access however have used it in a limited capacity in the past. My problem is that I have a form with a subform from a template and I am trying to add a new field to the subform and have it look up the info from another table to use to populate the field I am adding. I have added the field to the subform but I cannot get it to properly link to the field in the table, currently all the fields for all of the PN's says #Name?

    The table containing the necessary info is called Product, the column I want to pull the info from is called VendorPN.

    I have tried to update the "Control Source" but that hasn't seemed to work.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The subForm must be connected to a query.
    then the boxes can connect to fields.

    if the subForm IS connected, then the master form is linked to the subForm on
    LINK MASTER FIELD and LINK CHILD FIELD.

    How can I tell if it is connected to a query and if the query is correct?

    design the master form,
    click the child form
    view the property of the sub form
    SOURCEOBJECT = query
    click the ellipsis button to its right and you can view the query

    I hope you can see this, this is my first attempt to include a picture.

    Also, the subform embedded in the main form doesn't update when I change the subform Form, shouldn't it automaically update?

    Here is the Subform that has been edited to include the VendorPN field

    Shouldn't this automatically update the form this is embedded into?
