Issues With Crosstab Forms & Sums

For reasons that are nonessential, when I create Crosstab queries I also create then into Crosstab Forms. I can Conditional Format & manipulate the data (datasheet View). The problem I’m having with some of these Form is that when I click the ‘Total’ button & choose ‘Sum’ per each column when I save. close, & reopen the Form some Forms will reopen displaying the sums at the bottom. While, I’ll open other Forms & the Sums bar comes up blank/empty. Several times I tried correcting a few Forms by changing the ‘Total’ bar back to ‘none’, save, & close the Form. Again, I’ll open that same Form, I’ll click the ‘Total’ button & choose ‘Sum’ per each column when I save. close, & reopen the Form & the Totals/Sum bar still comes up empty.

Question: are there any rhyme or reasons why some of my Crosstab Forms are displaying the Sums at the bottom while other similar Crosstab Forms Sums are not appearing?

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

just a guess, but perhaps it is because one time there are values to be totalled in a column and another time not, so the column is not displayed so the total is removed and not reinstated when subsequently there are values to be totalled and the column displayed.
