filter by form asks enter Parameter Value IDModellingStocks

I have a subform related to main form on IDModellingStocks. a database of my modelling stocks.

I turn on advanced filter and choose filter by form, select an aircraft type from the comboList in the sub form that is for the aircraft types each item is for, so as to see all items I have for that aircraft, click toggle filter and it says:-
    Enter Parameter Value IDModellingStocks

Why if its related to the main form on this ID is it asking me for that , and what in fact is it asking for, do I have to type something in ? is this normal ? Not sure what to type in, How do I know what the matching IDs are for the items I have for that aircraft, if I knew I wouldnt be running a find !

    Whats the fix ?

Supply a sample database, your description is not clear enough for me to follow.
