    Lookup or new

    Hey everyone,

It seems i have a new question everyday so i appreciate everyones help thus far.

I've attached my database to this e-mail as its the only way i can really explain it.

On my main form "Input Form" i have a combo box for "LOC/Trust Number" that will show all of the LOC's that are currently in the table. What i'm trying to do is when someone selects a LOC number from the drop down, or types in a matching LOC number, that it refreshes the form with the data relating to that LOC. If the number doesn't exist, it creates a new record.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Andrew

Have you tried letting the ComboBox wizard create the control for you, selecting Option #3? Then use the NotInList event to create a new record.

Once you select a ComboBox and attempt to place it on your form, the wizard pops up. Maybe this will help: http://www.btabdevelopment.com/ts/addcombo

For some reason the third option doesn't show up for me, but that was a great link you sent so thank you.

Again, newb question, but how does one tell if the form they are working on is bound or not

Never mind, i was committing a cardinal sin of building a form directly on a table instead of via a query. All figured out now. Thanks!
