    Modifying Templates

Hi! New to the forum and fairly new to Access. I try to avoid using templates, but have invested a lot of time in one that perfectly suited my needs. However, now I can't modify many aspects of the form view from the design view. I'll do the change in design view, multiple changes, multiple times, but the main form view still shows the template design. It's a grid that I like, but I really want to tidy up the font, color, size etc. Feeling very stuck and frustrated as I've already put a lot of time into it. Thanks in advance!

sounds suspiciously like a datasheet - in which case many design changes (size and position of controls, bold/underline for example) are not implemented from the design window.

To change the whole datasheet, do the following:
    Open the datasheet
    click on the home tab
    change colors/fonts etc
save the datasheet (click on the 'save' disk on the top bar or close the form and save there)

Alternatively if you want different formats for different columns you can do some things using conditional formatting (colour/bold/underline/italic/background) - see this link

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...d-of-ms-access

Finally, instead of a datasheet, you could use a continuous (or multiple items) form which you can pretty much make to look the same as a datasheet without the ability of the user resizing/moving columns (except with some serious vba coding) but much greater flexibility on the controls

Thank you for all the great suggestions! I'll need a minute to try them out, but I'll let you know how it goes!

I'm new to forums and don't know how to insert your instructions into a text bubble, like you did with mine. Your first set of instructions was perfect. That totally worked! However, when I change the text, it changes all but the hyperlinks. So, I have headers that I would like bolded, but it bolds the whole datasheet except for the hyperlinks. And, the hyperlinks I'd like to make a different color, but I can't figure out how to change those at all. It isn't working from the form view or design view. Thanks again!

you'll need to look at the second set of instructions. However for bold headers, you'll need to look at the third set of instructions

To use the 'bubble' highlight the text you want to include and click on the quote button (third from the right)

to highlight code - to preserve formatting (indents primarily) use the code button - the # on the far right
