Steve's keyword search video shows you how to change the recordsource of the subForm based on the value you supply for txtKeywords on the main form.

In overview, you set the recordsource of the subform to all records. Then you add a Where clause criteria changing the recordsource, then requery the subform's recordsource to only show the qualifying records.

More info on the use of Filter from Allen Browne.

Great. I got it to work. But now when the user tries to sort the data in the form, an error message pops up that reads "the Microsoft access database engine could not find the object " make sure the object exists and that you spelled its name correctly. If " is not a local object, check your network connection or contact the server administrator. " .... (the object that it is referring to is the sql that I set as the recordsource for the form. It includes the where clause) .... then a second window pops up saying "the field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less. "

I'm not sure what any of that means. I wasnt trying to paste anything. I simply wanted to sort the data by a different field.

Please post a copy of your latest database, with info on how to produce the error.

Best to post in zip format.
