A general question about ADP files

    Hi,

I have been give a task of changing a 2003 access ADP application. First of all when I open the project, it presents a login screen which I can't get around. I can not make the ADP file look at a different database. I am trying to run it in Access 2007 and link to a local SQL 2008 R2 (Application's original version (2003) also uses SQL 2008 R2). I have not been able to make it look at my database!
There is an MDB file that seems to only have two forms in it and a bunch of queries and Linked tables (that I made). But I can't find all the other forms.
Are the other forms just objects (like .obj) files that are embedded in the ADP project? In other words is ADP like an EXE?

Or are the forms some place where I should be able to find them?
My guess is that the ADP file uses the .MDB but .MDB does not contain all the forms. I mean there are a lot of forms but I only see two of them!
Am I completely out of luck? Is there source code that I need to find? Is there a normal place where I can find them?

    Could someone please help?

    Mike

Make a copy of the dB first.

    Does this help?

    or maybe this:

Also, note that "Access 2013 does not include support for Access Data Projects (ADPs)."

Thanks for the links but they don't address my issue.

The access project is from 2003 and I am trying to open it in Access 2007.

Upon opening it gives me a security message and then a login box which does not allow me to click on anything else on the screen. (i.e. I can't click on the Access button) Naturally since I am not connected to the original database, I can't login and I am stuck there. I have tried clicking/holding the shift key but can't see the source files (i.e. forms).

There is an MDB file that seems to only have two forms in it and a bunch of queries and Linked tables (that I made). But I can't find all the other forms.

What happens when you hold the shift key down when opening the dB? Do you see the database window?

    Maybe post your mdb?
