Question Editing a field in a record

I was just scanning back on some records in my database and discovered that in one record that was created in 2007, the date field contained 10/27/1907. I attempted to change the 1907 to 2007 and was prevented from doing so when a popup said that the format did not agree with the programmed format for that cell.
I need to make more changes to how some data was entered in some other records where the price of the sale was entered as a unit price rather than the price for the multiples and I'm sure that will cause me grief too.
How can I edit the data in my database?

I realize you are new to this forum , and probably Access. It seems you have a background in Excel since you are referring to a cell. Cells are a spreadsheet /excel term. Field is the database term.

Who is responsible for the database?
    What is your role?
You need to review some tutorials on Access queries -- Select. Once you get familiar with Select queries, you can review Update queries. But beware --UPDATE queries are/can be very unforgiving.

Thanks for the quick answer. I'm not new to the forum, I just don't have much need to join in as I created my database almost 10 years ago and rarely have trouble with it.

I looked into the Select and Update queries and thought that is a lot of work to go through to make a simple correction to a typo. So I tried changing the date directly in my entry form and got the popup stating that the new data was inappropriate for the format. And then it dawned on me. When I created the db I used the format DDMMYY and when I was entering the edited date I was using DDMMYYYY. So I woke up and successfuly changed that field.

    Thanks for the caffeine!

No problem. My issue was looking at Post count and not Join Date. Sorry for that.

Perhaps you should participate more often.
