    Lookup on Form/subform

    Hello,

I have a form, based on a query, which looks up an Applicant. The subform is also based on a query, which when the Applicant is looked up in the form, the subform populates with the Applicants related records. The problem is, when an Applicant is looked up/selected, somehow the underlying table is changed. For example: Some applicants are 123 Company, 456 Company, Company A, Company B, Company C, XZY Company, and so on. If in the lookup field I type "Company B", it will pull up the related records for Company B, but will change the table from 123 Company to Company B.

I am new to Access 2010 (prior version was 2003), and I know there have been a few changes, but not sure what I am missing.

I am attaching the db, with sensitive data removed.

    Thanks for your help.

I can't open that version, but a quick thought comes to mind. If the lookup textbox on your form is bound to a table or updatable query, when you type to search, you are actually changing the field value. Sorry if that doesn't help. I wish I could update....

It sounds like a bound combobox to me.
Here is a walk through on how to do a combobox lookup
