    How to choose row heading

    Hello All,

Pardon the fact that I am a newb. I am unsure of how to choose my row heading when I use the create table wizard. It gives me the option to use the first row but my row heading is actually row 17.

I have searched long and hard and cannot find this answer. I assume I may not be using the right nomenclature.

    ANY help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

I use short descriptive words to describe the attribute.
    FirstName
    LastName
    BldgNum
    VehicleColor

What do you mean by 'actually row 17'? What are you doing - importing from Excel? If the sheet has multiple lines above the 'actual' header row, cannot use the import wizard.

    June 7,

Yes that is correct. I am importing from Excel. The 17th row in my excel spreadsheet is the row heading that I would like for Access to recognize. Correct, it has multiple rows above the actual header.

If I cannot use the import wizard, do you have another recomendation?

That is very far above my head I guess simple answer is that it takes a user who has proficient knowledge of Access to do this?

    Requires programming skills.

Otherwise, manually fix the spreadsheet to simplify structure.
