    you do not have exclusive access to the database

    Recently created a DB that keeps giving me this error at startup. It's not linked to anything, its not open somewhere else, yet it still gives me this error.



    Anyone know what could be causing this?

    Usu. you can get this error if NO one else is in it, BUT, the lock file, (.ldb, .laccdb) still exists.
    exit the db,
    delete the .laccdb, or .ldb
    re-open the db

    that should clear it.

    How do you delete it or find it after you close the DB ?

    It's a size of 1kb with an Information as "record-locking"

    if you dont see it, then its not the problem. it could be write premission on the folder.

    How do you delete it or find it after you close the DB ?
    Look in the same folder as the dB.

    Ok to clarify, how do you see it if the DB is not open ? It does not show after you close it.
    And while it is open, you can't delete it because 'this file is open in access'

    I've noticed that this error comes up especially when opening the form that is used at program startup. Any idea why this is happening ?

    There could be corruption.....
