    Making a report narrower

In Lesson 23 of this tutorial it says to narrow a report to the 3 mark

That is not obvious to do. It is easy to expand a report, but not easy to narrow one.

How does one do it. Clearly, this is not just reversing the procedure of expanding a report.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    The tutorial is here:

Bad link. Generally, move all the controls within the desired width, then drag the side margin over. You won't be able to drag the margin if any control remains outside the desired width.

I do not understand the part about move all of the controls the desired width, then drag the side margin over. It is clear just trying to drag the
side margin is not going to work.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If there is a textbox out at 10, you won't be able to drag the margin to less than 10. To get it to 3, you need to move the textbox inside 3.

I have no textboxes beyond 3. Whenever, I grab the right edge and move it left, it snaps back to its original position
the minute that I release the left click.

    What am I doing wrong?

Make sure there isn't a line, or anything else beyond 3. If you don't see it, can you post the db here?

    Working link http://www.functionx.com/access/Lesson24.htm

As Paul said, SOMETHING is beyond the width you want. The tutorial shows line controls, my guess is you need to shorten some lines.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Okay, I will check for lines and move if needed.
