Yes I am getting very worried about the VBA, just tried to do a simple open query with a docmd behind a button and it does nothing...its like VBA has 'switched off' for me. Im going to read up on it now.

Thank you that's really kind of you. Now a lot of the things that worked before are not working either - really basic VBA (as that's all I can write). This was all working yesterday. I am going to send the dbase to another laptop but if it is still happening I would really appreciate you having a look. It isn't all the VBA that is failing, some open and close forms are working but everything else behind the buttons is failing now.
