    Parameter buried in Report

I've been savagely editiing a report. The recordsource query has been vastly simplified and now runs quickly and accurately, I think. I've had to change the controlsource for most text boxes to match the new field names. Now, at the end of my journey when I run the report I am prompted for a parameter named [Payment Year]. It has to be buried in the report somewhere, but I can't find it. I've tabbed through all the controls and didn't find anything. There is no prompt simply running the query.

I'm about ready to rebuild the report from scratch. I might anyway, but I'd still like to find the bug.

    Your serve,

    Paul

    p.s. I am working on a 2003 database I recently upgraded to 2007. I am also using Access 2007

I use Rick Fisher's Find and Replace for Access to track down issues like this as well as to do edits. Saved my sanity more than once. Cost about $50. There is also a freebie called V-Tools.

I fixed it. I took out all the sorting and the problem went away. I never could find exactly what was prompting this, but it must have been built into the sort somehow. Anyway, problem solved.

Another of the many little dramas I expect to encounter as I pick up the pieces of my Access career again.

    Hey June,

I was thinking of using that, but they have a very strict policy about approving non standard software. I've been a little reluctant to request it.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
