    Web Database

    Hi All,
This may sound very superficial but I am unsure of the best way to create a web based database.
I have through the good advice given here managed to create a desktop database with lots of funky queries etc. I am now looking at creating a residents database for my building complex and before starting I want to know should I create a desktop database and the move it to web based later, or should I build a new web based database (when looking at a blank database I see the options are very different, no design view, etc.)
If there is some recommended reading for a novice that would be great.

Unless all of your users are on a shared network server, won't be easy.

Data enabled website is whole other programming world. SharePoint might be an option https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US

Otherwise, need web server hardware and software like IIS, ASP.Net, ColdFusion, Apache, PHP, etc.

I see so my initial question should I create a desktop version and move to SharePoint or build a blank web based version was irrelevant ?

Your original question did not mention SharePoint so if that was what you had in mind, I could not know.

I've never used SharePoint but as I understand it, building a normal database first then publishing to SharePoint is common approach. How users interface with SharePoint site is also beyond my knowledge. A quick search of web returned the link I posted. Was it helpful?
