    Working from the db you posted, following changes:

    1. rename the comboboxes as already suggested and modify the associated event code to reflect the new names

    2. modify cbxElement RowSource as already suggested

    3. put code to requery cbxElement in GotFocus event

    Big thanks for all your help on this the drop downs now work correctly and store their text values in the underlying table. A good lesson from a good teacher.
