Thanks for the help cbende2, but this form is actually still wrong. Not what I was trying to accomplish. The form that I set up in the original file is what I was trying to accomplish. I know it can be done because I have managed to do it once before. I just don't know what I did to make it work. I do believe when I did get it working I had it linked to a button that had some code in it that inserted a new record and then advanced to the next line. I do believe I messed it up though and it stopped working.

See the attached database to this post. if you open the "Lines" form, you will find two checkboxes. Purchase order and Line number. If you enter a purchase order; for example, 4500753123 and line 1000 and press the add record button, you can then check the lines and po's table and you will find the record added to those tables. It even adds the right keys in there for you so that you don't have to manually add the foreign key.

So what then excatly makes the order unique? Both the Line number AND the Purchase Order Number? I still am not sure how the most recent database that I posted doesn't accomplish what you want.

if you look at the last database that I posted, it uses one form to input the data and saves it to the database when you click the button. What you posted uses subforms where you would have to input information in multiple places. This would make it more difficult to understand for some. I want to make it like a program where you can push a button to run a report or look for a specific PO without having to look through the list. If you see the last one I posted you will notice a huge difference in the form you made to the form that I made. It does work, I just can't remember how I did it.

I will make it all pretty for you then, post it in a bit. The thing is you definitely want the functionality that Amrut and I posted, that's how its supposed to be setup. You just want to be able to view it in a "Single Record" style view instead of "continuous Form" and you also want buttons. I got you!
