Check if data is in query

    Hi,

I have a query with Members data on it.

I wish to do a small application whereby employees can input their Mem-ID and it outputs whether that member-id is actually found in the query or not. Since the users (employees) are not so tech-savvy, I would prefer should it return Found in a green box if found, Reset to empty the actual field and Not Found ina red box if the Member-ID is not found.

Is this possible in MS Access?

    Thanks

Yes, it is possible - in oh so many ways!

One way to filter records on a form: http://www.datapigtechnologies.com/f...tomfilter.html

    And another: http://www.allenbrowne.com/ser-62code.html

Then there are the intrinsic search tools on the ribbon and right click menu.

The textbox color can be managed with Conditional Formatting.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your help.... Since I was time sensitive however I did a formula of countif in Excel and conditional formatting for green and red and it worked perfectly too. Next time when I have time I will surely try this out
