Users comprehend names/descriptions better than numeric identifiers. How will Treasurer user know that a new question should be placed with group 1 (Taxes) and not group 2 (Foreclosures) if all they have for reference are the numbers? If you were a brand new employee and just given the options of 1 and 2, how would you decide which to pick?

Right, I had talked to the guy here already about that and now I have to add a "group" table and have the name there instead of the number.

Now that I added the bind of the faqQA table to the form, made it a continuous form, etc I can't select the group anymore. *Sigh* I do have to change it though.

Should identify data entities and relationships and build tables before diving into GUI (forms and reports). Maybe this will help http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/

Thanks for the link June, it will sure help! (I have been bookmarking a number of sites that I think will help.)

You don't know how frustrated I get. The guy here thinks he knows everything and I get upset so much because he doesn't. I have to do things his way or I rock the boat and he goes telling my boss how I don't do what I am told (he is just a coworker and not my boss). I knew there should be a "groups" table but I can't tell him a darn thing, I have to follow his "pictures" he draws for me or everything hits the fan. I don't know access hardly at all except if I want to add a report or something simple. It has been too long but I do know how to program so the concepts still go with all languages and databases. I will never claim to know everything and always welcome learning and input from everyone.

Thanks again for your patience and help!

I have been looking for the button to say this is solved but I must be blind!

Thread Tools dropdown above first post.

Sounds like you are doing someone else's work. The know-it-all should build the db!! Why does coworker have design control and not you and the boss? Yech - office politics!!

Oh well, good luck with the project.
