Form Pulling from Subform Instead of Master Form

    Hello All,

I am very new to Access and have encountered an issue I can't seem to fix. I have a form built with one main form and 6 subforms. The main form contains student information (name, ID#, college, grad year, etc). I have a subform that pulls all the data from student sign-ins (ie when they have visited our office). The idea is that all of the students in my student information tab should show up on the form, regardless if they have any data in the subforms.

Yesterday, I added a new field to my "student sign in" subform. After doing so, that subform seems to have taken over control of the main form. In other words, students who have no signins are no longer searchable in the database, and students who have 20+ signins now show up 20+ times in the record counter at the bottom.

All of my data is accurate and complete in the tables, so I believe that I somehow changed the control of the mainform and gave the control to the subform, but I have no idea how I did that, or how to undo it. I've been working in design view (I have almost no direct coding experience). Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Thank yoU!

Without being able to see it, I would say look at your form design, esp the LINKED CHILD, & LINKED MASTER fields.
If those are not matched, the sub-form data will not show correctly.
