Invald Path Error

hello, it may be towards the end of 2014, but I still have a problem with a document that I created some time ago. The warning message reads: A is not a valid path. After looking through all of the solutions that you great people propose below, I still have not been able to solve the problem. All I know is: I created the database back in 2001 with Access 2000 which I still use. My computer uses Windows Vista. Any suggestions for someone who doesn't have any design knowledge?

Hello, agin from my previous 2 emails today, I made a mistake in that my version of Access is now 2007. It looks like I created it in Access 2007. I hope this correction helps

Not enough info. Tell more about your dB.

What is a "document"? Do you mean a form? A report? A MS Word document?

When do you get the error? When the dB is opened? When you click on a button?

Remember, we have never seen your dB.............

I think I am replying in the right space! I created a MS Access database for some household inventory. It used to work just fine, but a couple of months ago, it stopped working. I get the error once I try to click on the actual database within the document. Across the top it does say: "Database (Access 2000 file format) - Microsoft Access" Again, I created the database in 2001 using Access 2000. For a couple of years, I have been using Access 2007, and the database used to open using this. It is an .mdb document. When I click on the file to open it, it goes to "All Access Objects" with the word Table underneath and with the name of the file underneath that. When I let my mouse hover over the file name, it says: Inventory.txt in A:\ Even I haven't used A drive in several years!

Just a slight correction to terminology. Access db is not a 'document', it is an application. You don't click 'database' within 'document'. You click objects within the database app. It is not name of a 'file' that is listed, it is name of a table. If the listed tables show an arrow on the left side and the popup shows a drive path, then these are links. The actual tables are in another file, probably an Access db.

Inventory-Jewelry is a link to an external text file. It does show the path is the A: drive. Nobody has used A: or B: drives (they were for floppies) in years. No idea how the path was modified but if you still need this link then suggest you re-set it with the Linked Table Manager. Right click on the link.
