Question Underlining Text and White Space Consistently in a Report

    Hi there!

I'm replacing an old filing system at my work which used hundreds of excel sheets every month with a database. Now that I'm finally at the output stages I am trying to make the new report look like the old one which was created in MS Excel. Specifically I can't find the best way to create the lines that are seen in this old excel file using cell formatting:

    I have tried
    - underlining the text (not the effect I want as most of the time the output shows too little text to make it easily readable).
    - drawing lines (but the as the spacing of lines is at prescribed intervals I can't get it to actually line up with the text size I have selected)

I would like to know if anyone has a way to generate these lines so that I don't have problems with my new report layout (see below):

Figured it out. It's not the most elegant but you can avoid the grid snap effect by holding control and pushing the objects around. Silly me.

Looks like same Excel image posted twice.

Drawing lines is only method I know. I don't understand why you have issue aligning with textboxes.

EDIT: You solved it. Can also set the Top, Left, Width, Height properties by typing values.

Yeah I edited it right away when I saw the images were identical. :P

That said yeah I didn't realize that the snap to grid feature was a default. Seeing that you can precisely set position and size in the properties is a great help. Thanks again!
