Forgot DB Password

I have a 2 or 3 year old DB whose password I have forgotten. Is there some way to recover it?

Not easily that I know of. But there are companies who offer services that include recovery. These usually do things for a price.
So bottom line is probably nothing for free, and probably a local company who could assist you for some cost.
