    Report program required

I am at a loss and really need some help. I have a database for which a report is required and I don't know where to start, can someone help me please? I need to have a report thank can provide information on whether or not a 'transfer' has been done. If I did a transfer to Teslin school for $1500 – I can go to reports – type in codeeg 03x-xxxxxx-xxxx-1414) and it will bring up all transfers done for that school.

The database has all the codes and schools links but since I am not an access person thought I would reach out to the community that does. If someone is willing or able to help I would send the database to them to see what we currently have.

    Thank you.

Start by making a report that displays *all* of the information in the format you want for *all* of the table. You can then limit the report with a filter applied with the WhereCondition of the OpenReport command.

Thanks for the reply, I think I am out of my element here, I don't even know where to start. I opened the database and hit 'create' and then 'report' and from there, just don't know. I don't even know how to get into behind the scenes to see what data and tables are in this database all I see is the "main Menu". This forum is probably not the place for me to be since I don't have any working knowledge of Access 2010 at all.

Try opening the db while holding down a <SHIFT> key and see if the results are the same. This forum can help you. We just needed to know your level of experience.

That worked it opened with a panel on the left showing all the queries, reports ect. I see one "query" that is called "All Transfers" I open it up and see them in table format. So I guess i need to be able to have a query in a button format where I type in the amount and/or coding I am searching for.

Start by making the report! Use the Report Wizard. You can base it on a query or a table.

There is currently a report for "All Transfers" as well as a query for "transfers by school" but there is no report schools. I need to have a report for any given school, not all schools just the one I query, in fact a repor is nice but even just a quick search would be good.

Will the "Transfer by School" report work for you if it limited the report to one school?

I think so, not sure guess I can try it and see what happens. There is a main menu and I would need to have a button on it to run that report, guess this is where it would ask for the school, correct? How would I get that button on it? Maybe going to far ahead here but thought I'd put it down while on my mind.

Also, now that I'm in the screen with the side panel, how do I get back and forth to the screen that comes up when I open it without holding the 'shift' key down?

Making a report run from a form is easy. Making the report can be a challenge.
