Find duplicates in three differenct tables

Hello.
I am new to this forum...

I am familiar with Excel but not too familiar with Access...
I am getting acquainted with Access and have the following question.

I have three different tables:
-one has all students with every class they have taken (failed or passed
-another has all students with every class that they are currently taking
-and another has all the students with every class that they will take next year



I want to find duplicates of classes students have passed (has credit attached) and/or classes they are taking or will take.


students have multiple rows in each table (one for every class...)
I have created a separate table, I don't know if it is needed, but it is the alpha of all students with their unique student number

You want to know if student/class taken is also in the other 2 tables? I expect this will involve 2 queries.

1. Find records where Taken = Current

2. Find records where Taken = Future

If you want to know if there are student/class duplicates within same table, that is another issue.

Yes, I want to do both #1 and #2.
How do I create that formula/query?

The Transcript file includes the following fields:

StudentId

StudentName

CourseNumberprc

The Schedule file includes the following fields:

Student ID

Student Name

Grade Level

CourseNumber

The Request file (for next year) includes the following fields:

CourseReq

Student ID

So, StudentID will be unique to all tables and I need to know all CourseReq and/or CourseNumber that match CourseNumberprc

I forgot to mention that the Transcript file has another field "CreditEarned" and that class' "creditEarned" must be greater than 0...
Hope it makes sense.

Use the query builder to link the two tables on the studentID and course number fields with INNER JOIN. If the combination is in both tables then the query will show record. If you want to exclude the records where CreditEarned = 0 then apply that criteria to that field.
