    2007/2010 Compatibility Problem

    Hi there,

I created my database in Access 2010; successfully split it and encrypted the backend, and then created an ACCDE front-end. However, the ACCDE front-end is incompatible with Access 2007.

I understand that one of the ways around this is to create a blank database and reimport each object until I find the problem. And I'm going to try this - But I was just wondering if creating a package solution will resolve this? I'm just concerned that some of the VBA and elements I used in my database will not have substitutes that are Access 2007 compatible.

    Thank you.

To use an accde in your case, I would suggest to use Access 2010 runtime on target PC.

Thanks for your input. I chose to recreate everything from a machine that ran 2007. The amt of red tape to enable users to install a runtime solution was far more tedious than recreating everything lol.

My understanding is that you should create an accde file using the earliest version of Access possible; to compare to the earliest version possible that a client machine would use. In your case, use Access 2007 to save as accde. Just like amrut suggests.
