base query on open form's current record.

I've gotten quite rusty at Access. I have a form with auto ID.
I have several queries based on the open ID record in the underlying table.
It worked perfectly for several years.
Recently I get the error message "engine does not recognize [Forms]![frmBlockTradeMainForm]![ID] as a valid field name or expression. " (it doesn't work with Where, or Group)

Also, a second of these queries will only open in the sequel screen. Same error message. Unfortunately I fooled around with it and I messed it up. Grrr. Any way to recover the design screen?

I note that entering the record ID number directly into the query works.

What's up? I appreciate any help you can give! G

Perhaps you have changed the name of the form "frmBlockTradeMainForm" or the field "ID"
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

    [forms] etc

I triple checked all entries, for spaces, spelling, and all. even re-entered the criteria.
I tested the query by changing the formula to the actual ID # on the open form.
    That worked perfectly.

So, when I open the query with the [Forms]![filename]![ID]-
the underlying table or the query don't seem to know what record is open?

Should I be using Group on or Where?
I tried them both, no luck.

I should note that the database is now living in the cloud, in case that matters, although it worked perfectly for almost a year in the cloud.

    Thanks so much!
