Date Field in a Table/Form

Thanks for the answers with the previous questions, still a bit stuck?



I have a table which has a form as a front end. One of the fields is for the date, I put the date in fill in the rest of the form and everthing is ok. Its then time to add more info to the database under the same date, so i put in the same date on the form but instead of adding onto the existing date field it creates a new row within the table. This means I have 2 rows within the table with the same date, and all i want is one date and you add onto that date range until the next day? Any ideas.. Thanks.

Just putting the same date on the form will not cause Access to automatically find and update the existing record with that date. You have to move to the existing record and display it (with the existing data) on the form, and then make the required changes. There any number of ways to to that, but the easiest is to click in the date field, and then click "Find". You have to be careful about the format for dates you use in the find dialog, though. If you select the "Search Fields as Formatted", you can enter dates just as you see them on the form.
