    Parameter are not allowed in queries that cant be displayed graphically.

    I get this error "Parameter are not allowed in queries that cant be displayed graphically" when I insert fairly complicated SQL query with a nested sub-query in the Ms-query connected to Datababse from Excel. After searching online for the error message. I get this link;

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4...with-sub-query

    I want to believe it will help but where am stuck on the steps of this link is the parameter '?'. What do I need to do to make the solution work or If I can get help in making Excel accept my query without trying to reject it. When I query less complicated SQL it accepts and displays data but when the query is joined to other tables with many parameters it reject it giving me the error above.

    Again if anyone has a better way to bypass this message so my data gets displayed I will appreciate it.

    thanks much!!!

    How many threads are you going to start?

    Can you tell us how you are connecting between Access and Excel?

    Why are you linking to and quoting a thread that is three years old?

    I believe the forum is to get help - That is why I post my questions by related forum. Each question is related to the specific forum and If I know the way around it, I wont be asking.

    I connected Access DB to Excel using the MsQuery. I link to the old link so my question will be clearer if am not phrasing it right.

    Any help to get this done done - will appreciate.

    Perhaps this might help... which was referenced to me by Pecoflyer - Thanks pecoflyer! but am stuck on message error........

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...010099664.aspx) but I get error when I query complex SQL with parameter.

    I guess I can assume that you are in Excel and creating a link from Excel to Access. However, it is late in the day for me and I do not feel like making assumptions and guessing at what the problem may be. Perhaps posting the SQL of the query that you are linking to will help others to understand. I will not bother to repeat the question I asked in the other thread since you state that the other thread is a different topic.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
