data columns (fields) in table will not move

    I have a problem.
I believe one of my users moved one of the columns in my main table by mistake. So, it causes issues when importing data from excel, into my Access table.
When I select the column and try to drag to the correct position, the column does not move. It just selects multiple columns. I have tried to Unfreeze all fields, but it still does not work.
The order is set up correctly in the table's design view.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

You can change the order of columns in a table while in design view. Select the field/column and then, after highlighting, drag the field to the desired position.

Importing data & column position is irrelevant. Access doesnt care about the order ..only field NAMES! THEY MUST MATCH! Every field in the import data must exist in the target table. But the table CAN have fields missing in the import data, since they are not used, they wont cause an error.

I copy in excel and paste into the Access table. So, column order must match exactly, otherwise qty goes into the description column, and description goes into the qty column. I am not doing a direct import from excel, because I need to be selective on what records I am copying from Excel.
I guess I'm not sure how the columns got moved, if they are unmovable. And, because they were moved, I would think I'd be able to move them back. I found something online that says you can select and drag to move a column. But it does not work.

The order is already in the correct order in design view. But, incorrect order in datasheet view.

I found a U-Tube video. You have to first select the column to be moved. Then, click on that field column label, and hold down the mouse, and drag to desired position. It worked!
