White boxes around buttons...HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM!!

Hello everyone,
I have attached a picture of my "issue" when I design a button on a Tab Control the button has this white box around it this has been really bothering my boss a access power user and myself novice to no end. I've tried reformatting the button , Bring it forward, properties and deleting it and trying again. This started happening after we up graded from 2003 to 2010. if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. if you need anymore screenshots just let me know (I've got plenty since this has happened to 8-1 buttons since last august) thanks for your help in advance.

Some themes do not play well with the tab control. There are properties for the control that can be adjusted to affect the "White" area you see. If I recall correctly, some themes will conflict with this setting. It will look fine and then as the user interacts with the form, all hell breaks loose. It is as though the tab control finally gives up trying to keep up with the theme.

What type of button is that? doesn't look like a normal access command button. that may add to your issue. what did they look like prior to upgrade? I only have 2003 but I know 2010 has more enhanced formatting of controls, you could try a toggle button to emulate a command button. you could try and put a box the same color as background around each button, size to fit, transparent, use the border color and size for this.

Trevor40- That is a command button in access' 10 there is an option to "quick format" your buttons.
ItsMe- It does sound like that could be my problem. i guess that's what we get for having someone else do our upgrade for us and they changed the button formatting " to be more visually pleasing". the odd thing is on the attached picture NONE of these buttons have this problem it only seems to happen sometimes.

The difference is the tab control. I do not see a tab control in the second screenshot. In 2010 the Tab Control has new black box stuff that keeps track of click events on its tabs. Now the tab control seems to have new conflicts here and there. Not enough for me to complain though. I appreciate the tab control and use it often.

wish it were that simple ... i have a few buttons on the same form just another tab that show the same problem.

that looks like a background color, try setting it to transparent and see what that looks like. looks like the button is a white rectangle with an image of a button in the middle of it. compare the button properties for manual and quick format, check differences.

Trevor is correct. Just be careful when adjusting one of the many properties available within a theme. You can eliminate the theme by choosing the wrong color.

Too bad about the buttons. They must be using resources on the client machine.
