    Table Relationship Question

Hi! Do you always have to finish the table relationships at the start or can you make the relationships after doing query/form design?

I've been making an access file and haven't established the relationships yet. I've done the form/query designs but I got lost in defining the relationships now access says "Relationship must be on the same number of fields with the same data types."

What did I possibly do wrong?

    Thank you so much!

Relationships in the Relationships Builder are not required for a database to function. Getting the related PK/FK fields correct is. This message is explicit. You are attempting to link on fields that are not the same data type. If primary key is an autonumber then the foreign key must be number. Or attempting to link on compound keys without the same number and types of fields included in the PK and FK.

I see what I did there. Thank you!

Another question, in defining relationships I always see 1 and the infinity symbol in examples online. I can't make it appear on mine though. Does access have settings on how to make them appear or change the type of relationship? thanks a bunch!

Click the line that links the tables to open the Relationships dialog.
